A safari is a trip on land, sometimes in jungle or savanna environments, which is engaged in for the purposes of viewing or hunting animals. Most frequently, the modern safari involves viewing, snapping, and experiencing animals in their natural habitats. With bigger laws for the management of many animal species, less people do a safari to hunt animals.
Safari is a Swahili word, which originally comes from the Arabic word for travel, safara. Most associate the concept of going on safari with Africa, but basically there are lots of safari destinations all around the world. For example, one can take safari trips in India, Australia, Antarctica, Alaska, Brazil or Peru. Basically any place where one can observe animals in their true habitats could be a safari destination.
